Does this seem to be a good ACT Study plan?

I am taking the ACT in April, so I have four months to study. Here is my plan.

I have the following review books: Barron's ACT and Barron's ACT 36. Princeton Review's 1296 ACT Questions, The REAL ACT Prep Guide, and Dissecting the ACT 2.0 (the last one was recommended to me by a friend. It basically goes through the sample ACT test you can pick up at any guidance counselors office and gives some strategies)

In the month of December I plan to finish the ACT Math and English sections in the regular Barron's ACT. In January, I will start reading strategies for Reading and Science in both Barron's books and DISSECT, and review math and English. In February, I plan to start to going through the 1296 books, in addition to reviewing as much as I can of the material I did in the past two months. Finally in March, I plan to take two of the practice tests in the REAL ACT Prep Guide, and go through them carefully q by q.

In all, I plan to study for about 1-2hrs a day, and possibly make it 2-3 by February.

I am aiming for a 28+. Is this a good plan? Is it too much? (as my mother opined)

I personally think it is too much. You shouldn’t need four months to study. Maybe if you had used two months to study, or decreased the amount of studying time to like half an hour it’d be better. Your plan sounds good though.

You shouldn’t study at all. Stop wasting your time. If you can’t do well enough without studying to get into a good school, you don’t deserve to.

^^lol stop being so discouraging. I know plenty of people that didn’t “deserve” their test scores. Guess what? They’re at ivies now and doing great. Honestly, who’s to say that you don’t “deserve” a test score if you’ve worked for it?

Anyway OP, I think you are overdoing it. If I were you, I would totally focus on school right now and wait until the summer to concentrate your efforts.

Thanks for the responses, I will try my plan. If I realize I can’t handle 1-2 hrs, I will cut it down.

@Purplepotato I actually do well in school. I don’t know if you understand the concept of one forgetting a lot of stuff he learned in Freshman Year. I have not had to look at a parabola for 2yrs, and now I have too. Not everything remains in people’s head crystal clear. So I maybe I should not call it studying, but “reviewing.” Sounds better?
