Does This Teacher Love or Hate Me?

<p>I'm a bit confused as to the disposition of my AP English Lang. teacher towards me - at times he seems to really like me while other times im not sure if he hates me, or if its just in his personality that he acts as such.</p>

<p>Basically, he usually seems like the typical "wise person" sortof demeanor, the one who only says things that are meaningful and usually doesn't get overly excited or such, but instead is quite a stoic in my opinion. Basically I think that this mood of his makes me think he is cold/doesnt like me, even though he has never really said anything bad towards me but doesnt seem to be 'happy' either unless you count a stoic 'wise' smile as being happy. Yet I remember a month or 2 ago he called my house to tell my parents about what a amazing student I am and such, and he consisently writes on interim reports on how im such a "pleasure to have in class" and how I have such good participation and such. </p>

<p>Any ideas on if he really likes me or not?</p>

<p>Well, the fact that he took the trouble to call your parents and tell them how you were a wonderful student says a lot, doesn't it? It sure sounds he likes you. Or maybe he enjoys your contributions to class discussions or something. It sure doesn't sound like he hates you. And I don't think most teachers would write comments like "a pleasure to have in class" if they didn't mean it.</p>

<p>Have you observed his attitude towards other students? Does he have this calm demeanor in front of them as well?</p>

<p>Well yea, he basically does it to everyone, which made me unsure if he just hated everyone or if he was naturally like that, lol. I guess mabye his naturally stoic mood just gave that impression</p>

<p>he likes you...he probably is just very formal, I have an english teacher who gets like "in the zone" with her lesson/sounds like a robot</p>
