Does U of M have any majors remotely like Journalism?

Or no? It's hard as heck finding any big schools that offer it, or at least a practical form of it. All I can find at most schools are media studies schools.

Try the other U of M... University of Missouri. Journalism is what they are known for... although not much else. They also have a special scholars program for students with a 32 or 33 on their ACTs (I think it's 33, but check their website). They also have a lot of alumni working at big name newspapers, magazines, and TV stations.

Journalism is very pre-professional, so not every school offers it. If you go to the U of M and major in English (better if you double with communications), I'm sure you can get the same job as a journalism major. If you absolutely "have" to study journalism (like many students "have" to study business), then you might want to look at other schools.

Oh well I'm a transfer student anyway. But I didn't even see communications at Umich. That's the thing. I thought maybe things were just named differently and I missed it, but I can't find anything.

So far I'm looking at MSU.

MSU is a really good choice.

Michigan has a Communication Studies major.

I saw that, but it seems more of a history of Journalism and mass media of a whole. I wanted something a bit more practical.

Here is a list of ACEJMC accredited journalism and mass comm programs:
