Does UMD Defer?

I was just wondering whether UMD defers for Early Action candidates or if it's only admit or reject. Does anyone know? Also, Does UMD offer a summer program option or a secondary alternative (other than an alternate campus) like PSU?

I would also like to know this.

edit: also just realized that they have a first semester study abroad program for those who are spring admit.

I just did some more digging and in prior years it seems like they had the following options:

Admit

Deny

Admit for Spring 2012 and waitlist for Fall 2011

Admit for Spring 2012

I haven’t seen whether you had to select the Spring option in the application process, but I don’t remember seeing that as an option so I assume it’s automatic. Also, if you’re offered for Spring 2012, I believe you’re eligible for “Freshmen Connection” which allows you to enroll in the Fall, but you have to either commute or live off campus. There is a Freshmen Connection page on their website ([Office Of Extended Studies - University of Maryland](<a href=“Home | University of Maryland Extended Studies”>Home | University of Maryland Extended Studies)) - the Q&A is pretty helpful.

Can anyone confirm or supplement the above information?

Ooo so if you do get spring there is a possibility to be put on a fall wait list. Does anyone know how the study abroad program works if u are admitted spring n study during the fall semester.

looks like they’re all ready for spring admit students for next year!
