<p>I'm pretty sure that they superscore the SAT, but I have not heard anything about superscoring the ACT. </p>
<p>And for those of you who don't know, superscoring means that only the highest subsections from all the test dates are looked at. </p>
<p>And an off-topic question as well, but does UMD look at the writing (that is the essay portion, right?) section on the ACT? The UMD website says this:

At this time, we do not use the writing portion of these tests as one of the criteria in the admissions review process.

However, CollegeBoard says this:

I'm inclining on believing the UMD website over CollegeBoard, seeing as it is the official website, but hopefully someone with experience in the matter can shed some light on this.</p>
