does unweighted gpa include electives, gym, orch, etc.

Hey guys,

Does the unweighted gpa include electives and other courses that are not part of the 5 main courses. for example i've taken orchestra, computer skills class, gym, and AP stats. would these be counted in my gpa?

Unweighted includes all classes you have taken, however does not give you the additional points for AP or honors classes. If you are looking for a Core GPA, that is math, english, science, foreign language, and history/social studies.

oh but unweighted will include all classes? also is an a plus counted as 4.0?

thanks !

That depends on your grading scale. You simply do NOT add in a .5 or 1 for any weighted classes you may take (AP or honors), IF your school weighs these classes.

None of us can answer your question. Ask your school registrar or guidance counselor. Which courses count for the GPA, which are weighed (if at all), which grades are rounded up, etc. varies widely from school to school.

ours is done by weighted only, but for scholarship websites and other stuff they keep asking for my unweighted and so i found out the number correlation for each letter grade but i wasnt sure if i should include gym orchestra computers, ap stats, etc.
