does unweighted GPA matter?

<p>I'm kind of curious about this. I know that they recalculate your GPA and that's what they largely base their decision off of, but would a low unweighted GPA deter them from admitting you?</p>

<p>For instance, I have a 3.3 unweighted gpa in core classes only, but once the weighting system takes hold it jumps up to a 3.7something. Would they immediately look at my 3.3 and be turned off by my application even though my recalculated GPA is quite good?</p>

<p>Unweighted GPA does not matter, they only consider the weighted. In fact, I practically have the same unweighted/weighted as you (my FSU weighted was slightly lower) and was accepted with scholarship.</p>
