I just received an email from a URichmond representative telling me that they only use the online application. I am an international student and using the online application is pretty useless for me because I will have eventually most of the forms (teacher recommendation, counsellor recomendation, transcripts, tax forms, bank statements, etc).

I cant use the online app. Is there any hope for me?

I’m not sure that I understand exactly what you’re asking, but if you’re concerned about not being able to submit your recommendations, transcript and other forms online, that’s normal even in the US and not part of the online application. Those things are always mailed in paper form. The online application consists of your information, essays, resume, accomplishments, etc.

No, the portion that has your essays, accomplishments, resume, etc. must be submitted online… but we are asking why you are unable to submit it online.

I know it’s been four years since I submitted my own Richmond app, but why is everyone saying it must be submitted online?

The UR Application Timeline says nothing about online vs. paper except for this: “$50 application fee or acceptable fee waiver form; fee may be paid by credit card via Common Application or by check after paper or electronic application is submitted.”

While I no longer work at UR, I can say with confidence that it is fine for you to send in a paper Common Application. But UR no longer prints an application of its own. Using paper slows down the processing somewhat, but that’s the only downside. Otherwise it will be treated the same as any on-line application. Just be sure to take pity on my former colleagues and use impeccably tidy handwriting, OK?!
