Im applying as a frehsman to fall 2015, and i dont see how i can turn in transcripts. Can anyone help me? I am out of state btw.

I went to UTdirect, and it says i have no application i file. I turned in my app like 30 minutes ago and even got a confirmation email. Do i even need to send transcripts/ssr's?

Because an official transcript would either be sealed and hand delivered or sent from the school through their digital system, when you open it then it’s not legit anymore

@Longhorns061012 also, do you think it wouldbe too late if I mail it in on monday? i live in cali so that would be enough time to reach ut austin admissions right?

The online system is for high school administrators to submit on your behalf. And you might want to rush it just in case the holiday slows it down

@toesockshoe, unfortunately, that is not acceptable. Ask your high school if they can send it electronically – many schools do. That will be your best option. Otherwise, you will want the to expedite it via FedEx. I don’t know why your counselor would ask you to scan and send – that would not be considered an official transcript. If time is too tight, call Admissions and ask if you can upload the document you have, while your school gets an official version to them . Good luck!

@lee6666 @Longhorns061012 yeah, i called them and the women said i only need to send a sealed mailed in transcript if i get admitted. scanning it myself is fine for the applocation process. she even checked my ut eid account to see of my transcript was acceptable, and it was. it had a stamp and everything.

thanks for the input though. better safe than sorry though right?

Is the transcript requirement worded funny? You aren’t the first to ask about this. And counselors send transcripts for the CommApp electronically, so why is the UT requirement so daunting? Is Apply Texas different somehow?

@toeshockshoe, good deal! My son’s h.s. will not even give you a copy. Said schools won’t take them as official. Glad to hear there’s some leniency there. Good luck.

@Lizardly well, ut austin does not use common app, and they have their own online application. they want us to scan our transcript and just upload it to our application. now, their application said I am allowed to upload it, but people on CC are saying only the school can send it. additionally, my school counselor is pretty incompetent and basically does not do the effort to research colleges. if a school does not use common app, she has no idea what the process is, so i kinda got confused because i was doing things differently and people on CC said i am not allowed to do it.

@lee6666 oh, yeah. my school stamped my transcript, and gave me a school envelope and told me to put a stamp and send it. i thought it was kinda weird also.
