Does Vassar do interviews?

I'm confused. It says on the Vassar website that they don't do interviews. But I've also heard they interview children of alumni. Is this true? My grandmothers both went there. Would I be eligible? I've heard of others being interviewed but maybe these were by alumni in their area? I'm visiting Vassar in a couple of weeks and would like to set up an interview there if they're offered. Anyone know?

If your grandmothers went to Vassar you can be interviewed or “have a meeting” on campus. Non legacy applicants can have a meeting with an alumni off campus.

According to the FAQ on the Vassar admissions site, they offer informational alumni interviews to anyone who wants one, as long as you sign up in time and there are alumni in your area who can meet with you. The FAQ emphasizes that they are informational only, not evaluative, and have no bearing on your admissions decision.

As barbie said, they do ofer courtesy campus interviews for legacies . The other interviews will be alum interiews in your area.
