i am an international student applying as a freshman for the class of 2013. for your information, washington does not require SAT l scores, but it encourages us to send in if we have sat for the test. It mentions nothing about SAT ll scores (if i am not mistaken, UW also doesn't require SAT ll scores for americans, does it?) My SAT 1 scores are above the average of UW (cr 690, math 710, writing 720, essay=11), but, since i sent it my SAT l scores, my SAT ll scores (physics 500, math ll 670, chinese with listening, 800)were sent in as well, and i was afraid that my SAT ll physics scores might pull me down (i scored only 500). I could not send UW my jan SAT results, (the month when i resat my SAT physics), as dec is the last month it accepts SAT results. will it just ignore my SAT ll scores since it doesn't even require SAT? Thank you.

You should be fine. You could send a copy of the online score for physics once you receive it. They will just add it to the file. I know for US students, they don't care about SAT II's although if they are already there, I can't see how admissions won't see them. Even though schools say they don't use the SAT II's I would think that whoever reads the files can make an internal observation. Overall, your other scores are very good and the physics score won't really make any impact unless that class would be important to the major you are thinking of applying to? I was going to have my gc send in mid term grades but was told that UW doesn't even look at them...so I didn't and got my acceptance anyway. If you are unsure due to international status...just email them.

thank you nbg127 for your reply. for your info, i am applying for business major

Glad you mentioned that ....I know the business school is very competitive. Are you able to apply directly into the school or do you apply Soph/ Jr. year as many UW majors require? (I'm International Relations but accepted in Pre-Soci Science - I apply sophomore year for the Jackson School) If you are able to apply directly, I think it will be harder to gain acceptance. But the physics score won't really matter either way.

i applied directly into the business school of washington (ie i listed my intended major)

bump bump bump

any other opinions?

SAT looks good enough since 2100 is usually the score for auto-get in and the SAT II are just what they are. I also believe that UW doesn't seem to care about the SAT II that much, so that Physics grade shouldn't put too much of a dent.
