I am currently a sophomore and interested in applying to West Point. If I apply early to West Point during my Junior year, will the admissions look at my Senior schedule to base their decision as well?

Because of scheduling conflicts, I am unable to take French 3 during my junior year, but I will take French 3 during my Senior year. I do not want the academy to think I quit French as a language if they only have up to my junior year grades. This would obviously hurt my application. I also do want the academy to see the additional three AP classes I will take during my Senior year.

I would also like to know if they look at senior year accomplishments if you apply early. I am a sophomore (16) and I will graduate from my local community college when I am 18 in two years. I want them to see that I have my Associate’s of Science, not just a bunch of random college classes.

Probably you should read about the application process on the official WP website. Among the basic requirements you have to be between 17 and 23 to apply. Generally, the earliest you would apply is toward the end of your h.s. jr year (around now) and before starting your senior year. You also need to apply for a NOM and those are only given out once a year after all the candidates have applied (many involve interviews but some do not), generally toward the end of the calendar year, there is no way I am aware of to apply ‘early’ to get your NOM. Check the website applicable to where you live for their application guidelines…[West Point Admission - Apply](http://admissions.usma.edu/apply.html)

“Does West Point look at your senior year schedule before making a decision”

No, there are Letters of Assurance (LOA’s) that start going out to some candidates during the summer after their junior year, with offers of appointment continuing into the spring of the senior year for others–They will be basing their decision on the strength of your application, test scores, class ranking, the classes you have completed and the grades you have earned, not on what you will be scheduled to take in the future. Many candidates will have their application submitted during the spring of their Junior year and then as soon as their junior year transcript is available they have it sent to the academy early that summer. Apply for your nomination as soon as the Congressional or Senatorial office allows. You will still have to submit senior year transcripts no matter when you submit your application, or get a nomination, LOA, or offer of appointment.

would they take any extra curricular activities that will happen in your senior into account? say you will receive a varsity letter in the 2nd half of senior year…would that count as a letter or do they only look at your body of work before applications

You can not report an achievement prior to you earning it. Reporting a varsity letter “as expected” in your senior year when you are just finishing your junior year would not fly. You will be judged on the body of your work at the time of your application. You can submit other achievements as they happen.
