Does Writing section Count

My May SATS just came and I received 800M, 700CR and 660 writing.

Earlier this year I did M800, V770 on the old SAT, and SATIIs–IIC-790,chem 760, Eng Writ-760, AH 750. Also got merit.

I’m shooting for merit based aid at top non-ivys. Am I sunk from these new SATs. Anyone have a clue?

I would have expected the Writing section of the New SAT to be about the same as the old Writing SAT II. I would practice using the SAT guides, especially the Verbal since it changed the most between the old and new tests, and then retake.

I would suggest that you look up the policies at some of the schools which you are interested in applying as the policies will vary by school.

Some schools allow students to submit scores from either the old SAT I or the new SAT I (with writing). Similarly, students may submit scores from either the regular ACT (if taken prior to February 2005) or from the ACT with writing (if taken in February 2005 or after).

The new SAT Writing actually has a much harsher curve than the SAT II Writing. 5 mistakes and you're barely holding onto a 700 (on the new SAT). This is why most institutions are going to be careful with it the first year. Check with each individual school though, because it seems everyone has a different policy. I don't know if I would retake with your highest math and verbal at 1570. Also, the 760 on SAT II Writing is decent.

the writing sections are not comparable.
writing on new sat is going to about : 700 is 95 percentile(like other sat sections)
writng sat2 would have been like ; 700 is 80 percentile(you can check the sat2 percentile chart on cb)
