I got into Yale but am extremely low-income. I can't afford to visit. Will Yale help to pay for a visit?

Congratulations: contact Yale and see what they say. Alternatively, if you live in an area with an active Alumni club, you might contact them -- they might be generous.

GL and enjoy New haven!

thanks :)

It's also true that if my family makes under 45k I don't have to take out loans?

vituoso_735...send me a message. I can help you out here :9

Admissions is willing to reiumburse...

i'm in the same position as you virtuoso! i'll be emailing admissions...but in case you hear before me could you let me know as well? >_<

Like I said, if you qualify for financial aid, you can send Admissions an email about the trip causing an undue financial burden. Yale will more than gladly pay it back :)

oh thanks :) will do

will yale only pay for bulldog days? i want to visit during spring break...

T26ER?

Would yale pay to visit Bulldog days?

I was admitted and got an email from Yale offering $500 to travel to bulldog days.

Congratulations! I hope to see you all next year.

I didn't get that email...
Is that email given to low income students?

OOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGG

now i have to decide between Yale and Stanford because I just got into Stanford!!!!!!!!

They only send that email to people with high financial need.

virtuoso congrats! but hey Yale all the way! ;0

virtuoso congrats,
i got into stanford and yale too
where do you think you'll go to?

I got into Stanford and Yale too!!!
Tough decision, but I'm so happy I can't even think about it!

Weird...it seems like Yale and Stanford have a lot of cross-admits (is this the right term?). I don't know where I want to go yet. Will have to visit, but leaning towards Yale because I want to get away.

I'm not sure the reimbursement policy for Bulldog days. I'd say fire off an email or phone call Monday! Good luck to all and enjoy the spring weather in New Haven! Don't get hit by any frisbees walking across Old Campus. If you're going to get a sweatshirt-- don't skimp by getting a cheap one. Get a good one. I had one that my wife finally threw out two years ago -- had it since I was a freshman!

Go JE!

Yale is normally very generous with reimbursement for travel expenses. From what I understand they give prospective students 500 dollars from the most efficient mode of traveling to and from Yale. They can also extend this amount if the itinerary needs additional funds. I would call the office of financial on Monday and ask for some consideration.
