The title says it all...
Does anyone know?

Probably not.

Good question! I’d like to know too since there a couple of students who applied EA from my school, but I definitely know they read them by geographical region. I’d think they would read by school since it is easier to compare students from the same school,( same counselor, courses, standards) but they might not.

I have heard from a Wharton admissions officer that people that apply from your high school are your first line of competition. Make of that what you will.

^ Actually I heard a variation of that from the Stanford adcoms who said that your fiercest competition will come from those within your school.

I spoke to my regional Yale admissions officer when she visited my school and she said not to worry about competition within your own school, but to worry about the rest of the country’s applicants :]
Also, according to her, for Yale applications, there’s no quota for a school, if that helps giving you an idea.

yeah but I think that’s a LIE, demiitasse :P

^Which it might be, but that is why I made the remark “according to her.” I’m still taking things with a grain of salt, but it’s nice to be hopeful and positive :] I’d rather be trusting than be so skeptical, and she was so nice anyways.

oh yes how lovely would it be if all of the equally qualified applicants from our school got in :)
