Does your intended major affect your admissions chance?

i put down philosophy, politics and economics (PPE)… does that put me at a disadvantage?

i dunno about major...but choice of school surely makes a difference :) i.e. wharton/ seas/ college/ nursing

so which school is easiest? other than nursing... i mean seas vs. college?

SEAS is easier. Overall acceptance for all schools is around 17% I think, while for engineering it's about 28-29%, although it has been falling every year.

Yes, but the SEAS applicants are very self selective. Engineering applicants KNOW they must be strong in order to gain admission

The number we SEAS kids always refer to is the SAT avg of 1466. SEAS kids are smarter than College kids (except maybe Physics/Chem/Vagelos kids). LOL

that's a bit of a generalization ...

no its not, silly! That's an average! :)

Engineering applicants KNOW they must be strong in order to gain admission

haha, and the college kids dont? gimme a breaK!
