Okay so I know all UC's passed some kind of rule about how diversity does not play a role in their admission process, but for all we know, they could've just passed it so everyone would get off their asses about how someone that's hispanic got in with a 1400 SAT and 3.1 gpa and an asian got rejected with a 4.0 gpa and 2100 SAT.

Anyways I'm just wondering if race plays a role in UC admissions (any UC)?
I applied to a few UC's this year so I was just curious.

As far as I know (and my knowledge from reading other threads) there is no disadvantage to being a specific race but there is an advantage to being an URM.

And to be honest, a 2100 SAT isn’t all that high for the top-tier UC’s (it’s not a bad score, but it’s not a score that practically seals the deal).

For now, state law prohibits CA public colleges from considering race in any way.

Race plays no role, since if you look at UCSD’s demographic, you’ll clearly see a skew in terms of race.
