I have about 5 (very-competitive) schools that I'm looking to transfer to for the fall of 2008.

My question is do schools take into consideration what school one attended prior to transfering? As in, would they take a look at a GPA from a student at Wake Forest and take into account the grade deflation that occurs there?

it depends, schools like Duke I don't think i've seen anyone get in unless they were already at a top 15 school. It probably has more to do with the fact that you have to have good high school stats and scores to get into these schools than the brand name itself.

Absolutely. While there is no determinable calculus for grade equivalency, a 3.5 at Wake Forest is more impressive than a 4.0 at a community college.

Yes, they defiantly take into account that. As long as you go to a decent school before transferring that has a good reputation you should be fine.
