I wunna do a slight modification to HMC's economics requirement for Humanities. Suppose I go for Financial Economics (slightly different from conventional economics) at CMC, will HMC allow? Technically, its humanities but with a wee bit more of Math involved. How will that work? And will CMC give something like a cert at the end to recognize that I have done it with them?

I am not clear how the tranfer of credits works in the consortium :/

if it is listed as an economics course it is going to be in the economics category. also, there aren’t really transfers between the colleges. you just sign up and all the grades are linked up with the hmc registrar.

i took a math-based econ class at mudd and it counted towards hum/ss. it will unless it is listed as math, physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, computer science…

It’s all one system, you sign up for all your classes at the same time in the same place and all your grades are listed in one place as well. You can potentially double major with Economics at CMC and your major at Mudd, but I don’t think engineers have enough credit space unless you overload a lot, though most of the other majors should have enough free spots. You’ll have to start planning it from the beginning though, and you’ll have to talk with CMC’s econ chair and all. If you don’t complete the double major, I don’t think you’ll get any special recognition.

The rules on what counts as a hum class is kinda weird, rocketDA is primarily right but I couldn’t get my Econ Stat (an Econ class) course to count since it was pretty much entirely math.

thanks guys. So the impression I am getting is that all the modules are stated in this commonplace catalog that is accessible by all the students in HMC and you just choose from it. And you would not get any recognition other than it being stated in the transcript.
