Hi everyone,

My main "hook" and activity is research, and I've published two papers (2010 and 2011) in one of the largest conferences of its type with a 30-ish or below percent acceptance rate.

It seems like in my field (computer science) conferences can have higher visibility, quality, and status (see Choosing a venue: conference or journal?) than journals, but I know that's not the case across all of academia. When an admission officer views these papers as "conference proceedings", what will their perception of them be? Basically, how helpful will it really be in the end haha?

Thanks, and good luck to everyone!
