June 2nd SAT scores are out tomorrow morning. Who all took it?

i didn't take the sat, but i took the act again. i had taken it two times previously and got a 31 both times. this time i got:

english: 34
math: 33
reading: 35
science: 27 (ahhh!!!)

composite: 32

if i had gotten a 28 or higher in science, i would have had a 33. oh well, i guess i'll have to get by with a 32. hopefully i can write a good essay.

great job on the Act golfer, I still haven't gotten my scores back

I do need to check my SAT scores tho

The 1 E.C. that your most proud of: Editor in Chief of our school's awesome literary magazine! ^_^
Athletics: No varsity sports, unfortunately.
What you like most about ND: That feeling you get when you walk on campus...as if you've come home. :)
Scale of 1-10 how badly you want to attend ND in the fall of 08'- 9.9999

only 9.9999 out of 10? you must not want to go there that badly then. lol.

lol, I would put 10 except that I don't want to get my hopes too high...what with the competitive nature of ND admissions. >.<
I don't know whether or not I should apply EA, considering the magic SAT number...I don't want to jeoporadize my chances. :P
Any ideas? Are any of you applying EA?

I don't think you should apply early, silveronthetree.

That's what I had originally thought, too. sigh
Admissions, especially at ND, is getting incredibly competitive. Although I suppose it's a good thing for the University.

Hey silveronthetree!

Glad to hear you are interested in ND!

The best thing that you can do when deciding whether to apply EA or RD is to email your rep. You can find his/her email on the nd website, and ask them if you should go EA or RD. Give a brief overview of your stats and they will honestly tell you if EA is a good idea or not.

Good Luck!. You seem like a great candidate.

Where can you find the rep. email addresses? I looked on the website but couldn't find them.

it's under staff list: https://admissions.nd.edu/moreinfo/stafflist.cfm

I just wanted to be part of this group, because even if I don't get in, I'm glad other people who wanted it just as bad will. I going to visit in a few weeks, and I can't wait! Anyone know what the avg SAT score for this past app year is? I can't find the avg anywhere, just the 'range'.

hey vc08!

glad to hear that you are just as interested in ND as we all are!

Average SAT Score is going to run around 1420-1440

However, some would say that if you are white, non legacy, non athlete... its going to be substantially higher

I'm an athlete, but that doesn't count for beans at this school, even if they say it does. Everyone applying is an athlete. Honestly, I don't really have a chance, but it's what I've worked my whole life for, so I decided not to give up on it. Are they going to consider the writing portion of the SAT?

I meant recruited athlete.

I think they are still using the Mat +Verbal for decisions.

Hey all, I've been gone for a while but I'm starting to get a little worked up about the whole college thing again...

Tim, are you serious about the white, non legacy, non athlete thing??? If this is true, I'm totally screwed for ND. totally.

DancingFeet,

Its no lie that ND gives some amount of preference to its legacy applicants. They usually want to be around 25 % legacy for the entering class. Also, if you look at the thread for the admitted students, you can see that ND gives GREAT advantage for URMs. ND also has a large recruited athlete scene. So, when looking at the average SAT score, you have to take in those three characteristics.

I got that information from Mike, so you can message him about the particulars. (Irish 86178) .. or something like that

Also, we are getting bombarded with chances threads... so I think we need to get a roster going. Im going to start a new thread, and make sure to add yourself to it.

silver how's the class rank? Have you taken any SAT's yet? If not start early in the year so you have a chance to take it more than once. Get the books and study. My daughter started with 1380 and raised it to 1460 in time for EA Write a great heartfelt essay

I'm new to this but i saw this thread and i really wanted to reply. I am from Arizona and I just visited ND and fell in love. It is definately my number one school but it is extremely selective and even if I had perfect SAT scores (yeah right) I could still be denied. Do you really think that being an URM helps greatly? I am hispanic but I know that it is like 11% of the admitted students so it doesn't guarantee me a spot just because they are desperate for diversity. My SAT is around a 1350 which makes me competitive but I still don't think I could get accepted.
