Domers of 12'

oh, lol.I like Notre Dame and all, but I'd like to prefer to go to a school that one of my siblings haven't.

hey juniors great to network now. Study hard this year. Prepare for your SAT's and ACT's. Take them early so you have time to retake. Take time to go on college visits. Start your apps over the summer so you can enjoy your senior year and pray for the class of 2011 hopefuls. Good luck.

4.0 here isn't really anything to brag out. Out of a class of 160 there are about a dozen left with 4.0 unweighted. That being said though, I by far am taking the hardest class schedule. I plan on double majoring w/ Finance and Chinese or possibly Economics with Chinese. Notredamebrother, my sister is at ND and really that doesnt' faze me at all.

ya... but i also wouldnt want to go to a school that my brother / sister is at.... like at sometime... its time to branch out and become your own person..... but ND... I dont care if every living relative went there........ cuz thats the place for me!

I agree that you should try to branch out. But if the school your sibling happens to be at is what is right for you, then I don't think you should not go to that school just on the basis of a sibling being there.

The funny part is that she's applying to the many of the schools that I'll be applying only for graduate.

What other colleges are you guys looking at?

Other schools I'm considering besides Notre Dame (#1 choice at this point)

UPenn
Duke
Stanford
Yale
Cornell
UT-Austin
Boston College

this is good.....
Okay this is in order

Notre Dame
Southern California
San Diego
Michigan
Pepperdine
Loyola Marymount (CA)
Santa Clara
Boston College (losing interest)

Some safeties that Ive been thinkin bout
Southern Methodist University
San Francisco
Gonzaga

Im prob. forgettn some....
btw there is a huge gap between 1 and 2 on my list ......

State: Texas
City: Arlington
High school type: Mid sized Public
Grade Point avg. UW: 3.7
GPA W: 4.5 (out of 5)
Sat scores/ projected: No clue, taking it in a month. Although, in 7th grade I got a 600 on verbal, so that should be fairly high now that its 5 years later.
Act scores/ projected:
The 1 E.C. that your most proud of: Probably Key Club (Freshman Director in 9th, Vice President for 10th and 11th grade, and 99.9% sure President for next year)
Athletics: Volleyball; school all 4 years (assuming I make it next year) and Club (like select) since 7th grade
What you like most about ND: What I like most about ND? Well, everything, actually. But the location (I need out of Texas..lol), academics, good Poli Sci program, travel abroad oppurtunities especially to London, Rome, and DC, the amazing way faith plays a role in the school, and of course the football. :-)
Scale of 1-10 how badly you want to attend ND in the fall of 08': Its a 10, no doubt.

Oh... and my other colleges, as I just looked up the thread..

Number one choice is Notre Dame.. duh
George Washington University
Vanderbilt

And my safeties:
University of Texas
Texas A&M University
University of North Texas (as a last result...)

George Washington.... thats like in the heart of D.C. right?

I'm Also looking at:
Cornell
University of Illinois
Michigan
Northwestern
NYU
Pepperdine
Purdue

brother.. have u been to Pepperdine?

Not yet, but i've heard alot of good things about it.

Yeah... I've been there..... its amazing........
Well i guess the thing that blew me away was the baseball field.......
from homeplate... its like u hit into the ocean.......
It really is nice.....
Why is it your only west coast school?

If you like pepperdine... here are some other w.c. schools i think u shuld consider

University of San Diego
Loyola Marymount University
Santa Clara University

hey... do u guys mind listing some of the safeties that you are considering......I'm really havn trouble finding any....

These are my colleges in order of where I want to go:

1 Notre Dame (reach)

2 Texas State (safety)

3 North Texas/Texas Tech (safety/match)

4 Missouri (match)

Ryan... do you not liek UT-Austin
I heard thats a great school

It would be cool to go there, I've been to the campus...but the only way I would probably end up there is if I get rejected by ND out of high school, then go to Texas State...apply to UTA and ND for transfer and get rejected from ND and accepted to UTA. It's almost impossible to get into UTA out of high school if you're not in the top 10 percent because of the Texas 10% law, which isn't fair for the huge competitive schools like mine, but whatever.
