¿Dónde está la vaca en mi casa?

"Yo soy de norteamericana"
normal sentence, but the day my friend somehow accidentally said it in a thick Russian accent, we laughed for about ten minutes. she still hasn't lived it down.

I once asked my teacher where her lover was and proceeded to say that i was mad that i couldn't find him.

In reality, I was looking for a stapler.

ok well there was a question where it asked "where did u buy those pants" and my friend answered
"tengo queso en mis pantalones porque estoy un mal estudiante"
he really thought he said "i bought my pants in the mall"
it was hilarious

I managed to find this dictionary that had a pile of curse words in it, only to use some and get a very interesting effect on a Mexican, which I shall not discuss right now. And Olive_Tree, this is what happens with all new learners of language; I have seen plenty of Hispanics kill English many times over. What is better is hearing someone butcher Chinese, because "This copulates with cats" and "This hat matches" are separated only by tone.

Spanish is my first language and I have never heard most of those words and expressions.

My friend would always say "anus" instead of "year"

Olive_Tree: I figured as much; most slang is dialectal, which is why much of the dictionary has little use. However, I have heard many of those expressions (anything pertaining to Mexico, Puerto Rico, or Colombia); the Argentinean and stuff dealing with other places I have not.
But I will remember that in the future. It is always good to have a native reference.

I only recognize some of the Cuban words and expressions (since I am Cuban).

'Tis good all around then; now all I must do is find an Argentine and a Dominican.

I knew both when I lived in Miami, Florida.

I meant in my own area! I can't go that far (although I go there for all my cruises)

Yes, well I can't go that far either. I am now in a new location with a much smaller Hispanic population. Thus, I have not met any Argentineans or Dominicans.

Getting stuck in small-city America...and there are too many threads to respond to on this section.

I am definitely stuck in small-city America.

At least you can get out while in college. That is what that time is about.

I can confidently say that I am never living in Michigan after high school.

Unless I get rejected from all of the colleges I apply to out of state and have to stay, but hopefully that won't happen.

Interesting, you live about 120 miles from me. I will be applying to anything not in state except Oberlin, for I happen to like the school. I do not wish to remain here but would like to end up on a coast somewhere or up north.

I would like to go to college in the New England area.

I may attempt to apply to Tufts or Cornell but most likely will take a more western route, applying to Univ BC and Pomona.

I like the east, so I have a feeling I'm going to spend a big part of my life there.
