Don't know where to apply....

When I first found about CC, I didn't know many schools except Harvard and Dartmouth. I thought I could try to apply. But look at what's happening now with the admissions process....

Well, due to privacy, I left the details out but PM me and I will be glad to send you my resume, specific test scores,...etc

Good GPA (3.8-3.9)
Great SAT (2300+)
Outstanding ECs (many leadership roles, and many achievements)
Many hours of Comm. Service (300+)
National Achievements in Leadership
AP Scholar with Distinction (and many more APs... very many.. very very many. No 3s,2s,1s.)

I am thinking of:
U of Miami
Hofstra University
Oberlin College
Stanford
Yale
Princeton
Dartmouth
Cornell
U of Chicago
Georgetown
Emory
Florida International University
Duquesne University
University of Massachusetts - Amherst
James Madison University
UVA
Harvard University
Claremont McKenna College
Fordham University
DePauw University
Bentley University
Brandeis University
UC Berkeley
UC Santa Barbara
Creighton University
UF

Creighton is my safety, along with FIU.

Bump it with
U of Rochester… also applying there.

And no URM.

all the advice im going to give you is that when november/december rolls around you should narrow your list down to around 10 school that you really like. right now you at about 30

Thanks! 10 Char

don’t apply to FIU unless you don’t want to out of Miami (trust me on this one not as fun as it sounds)

it you really need/want to go/stay in Florida then FAU, UCF, and FSU are better bets, FSU is a tier on university, UCF is the bets Engineering School after UF in Florida, and FAU is actually pretty mediocre, BUT AT LEAST is better than FIU

Thank you!
Actually, those are only colleges that I know.
Ivies+schools in Florida.

How do my stats add up?

Any schools that I should get rid of?..etc
I heard today that FIU is not that hard to get in.

Like 78% acceptance rate…

you will get into one of the ivies

you live on long island or in westchester

what does that mean??
no i dont live there.
was that your question?

well, do you want a city school, rural school, campus school, commuter school?

Big or small?

Conservative or liberal?

Big fish in little pond (JMU, probs) or little fish in big pond (ivies)?

little fish in big pond,
big,
city,
not really sure about cons. or lib.

thanks!

well, maybe, if you want big…then no ivies, so maybe Georgetown or UVA?

thanks packer!
i mean, the party scene.
i was not thinking of like 5000+ students.

Best,

I would advise looking at Georgetown, Fordham, and Brandeis judging solely from your list. And I would also say apply to the ivies that you’re interested in - it doesn’t hurt, and colleges are such a crapshoot anyway that who really knows?

I know these aren’t on your list, but have you thought about Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, U Chicago or American/GW? All are good schools which would seem to fit your criteria.

What do you mean by outstanding ECs?

Your list really runs the gamut–which schools do you like?

Leadeship achievements; national level.
