Ok, my math teacher, is just odd. I don't like her, I can't understand her way of teaching its not working out for me...sooo 2 kids have already switched out of that class, and have pulled there grades up by going to a diffrent teacher...and I am thinking of doing that...but...I don't know. I don't want to make her feel really bad...but I've been failing everything in that class...and its not just me who thinks of her like that...its everyone! What should I dooooo help me!

If you don't like her and she isn't a good teacher, you shouldn't really care about "making her feel bad" by switching.

When it comes to situations like this the most important thing to do is get the best teacher for the course. The quality of instruction can make a big difference in your grades and knowledge of the subject material. Hurting a teacher's feelings by switching to another teacher shouldn't even be a teacher. If multiple students are leaving switching then she needs to think about whether or not she is doing her job correctly. But the question is, why don't you like this particular teacher? Is she not teaching the material good enough or is she doing some real teaching work and the students don't like working hard? I've seen students switch teachers for both reasons.

Like ohnoes said, if you really don't like her style of teaching, then you shouldn't be too bothered about her feeling bad. Think about it this way - would you rather have (a) a miserable mark with your current teacher but a good relationship with her OR
(b) a great mark with another teacher but an OK relationship with your old one?

...and you also seem to think that your teacher is going to suffer an emotional breakdown if you switch...well, teachers generally don't get too upset if something like this happens. And you can avoid it - just manipulate it in such a way that you never openly say that you don't like her teaching style, so she's still on OK terms with you..

So, my advice is, SWITCH. Your marks are going to determine where your life heads, not how much your teacher likes you.

Good luck! :)

If you can switch, switch. Whether or not you can switch, get a tutor. If you're doing as bad as you say in the class, switching won't get you up to par. You'll need extra help.

who gives a **** about how teh teacher thinks? its UR LIFE, and u shouldn't feel guilty for wanting a better GPA

I highly recommend you switch, ASAP.

Just deal with it. There were two algebra teachers in the 8th grade when I took it. One was a very nice lady who was an excellent teacher. The other was an old, obstinate angry little lady who was not an excellent teacher. The class average was probably an 87 or so first semester. 3rd quarter she injured herself because she is old and we had the nice lady. The average jumped up by about 6 points. Then in fourth quarter when she came back it went back down. The moral of the story is you can learn just as much with a bad teacher, but your grade won't be as high. Basic algebra skills are needed, and didn't have a great Algebra I teacher, but I'm great at algebra and am in Calc with a high average.

You don't need to switch, just put a little effort into it. I'll get flamed for saying that, oh well.

I have a tutor!!! Math is my worst subject, and even with a tutor, its not working!!! I just failed a test and two quizzes...I think I'll switch, considering theres about 9 algebra teachers. Thanks .
