At least not together. I have AP Bio and AP Chem back to back periods , and 3 weeks into school I'm already buried under work.

My advice, don't take Bio and Chem in the same year.
(Although I have noticed Chem enabled me to totally skip the Biochemistry unit studying, because I already had learned it)

The difficulty of the actual classes themselves depends on the teacher. The actual AP test is the same for everyone.

Are you sure you actually skipped biochemistry and not just chemistry that pertains to biology? Did you learn about proteins, nucleic acids, cellular respiration, etc in your AP Chemistry class?

No, no, I didn’t skip that unit, I just didn’t have to study for it. And in Chemistry we are learning stricture of proteins and nucleic acids (Same with bio class).

As for the teacher, they aren’t the problem, it’s the workload I’m warning people about.
Taking two classes that the college board recommends studying several hours a week outside class for, is not easy, and therefore other students should know what they’re getting into if they plan on doing this. Same goes for AP Physics & Bio, and AP Physics & Chem.

The teacher IS the problem as only they determine the amount of work you are required to do. My AP Chem class only had a few problems to do that were due every few weeks, no required reading, etc. If you want to pass that’s a different story.

I’m taking both this year. I have AP Chem 2nd and AP Bio 4th (Block Schedule means I usually have 2 tests in 4 hours). The classes are very different in nature and both are difficult (Both are meant as an intro class for majors in the subject) and I find that if you legitimately don’t know what you’re getting yourself into, you shouldn’t try it.

I’m taking AP Bio and self-studying SAT Chem and Physics on the side. Do you think I’ll be prepared to take AP Chem and Physics this May? PS: I’m not taking AP Bio in May (because AP Bio is a 2 year course @ my school).

Maybe. It depends on how you study, really. It’s totally possible… People on CC have done it, but only if you’re willing to put in many many many hours of prep and do practice tests.

I don’t know if my schedule will allow it, but I’m planning on taking Biology and Chemistry senior year. I don’t see what’s wrong with that, they’re kind of related. At least it’s better than taking Biology and Physics.

I’m taking AP bio AP chem and AP physics C this year and I’m somehow pulling As and Bs in all of them. We’ll see if that lasts past the first 3 weeks though…

I’m taking Chem + Physics C, a friend of mine is taking Bio + Physics C (she took Chem + Physics B last year), and another friend is taking Bio + Chem. We’re all completely fine so far.
