I realize everyone wants an opinion of the "chance" they have to make Penn. But all we get are your rank, GPA standardized scores, ecs, classes, etc.

The key is it is not practical to read your essays or even for you to read your recommendations. Why is that important?

If you look at the common data set for PENN (what they are looking for in priority order) essays and recommendations are in the most important category, next are ecs and GPA. And not until the third category is rank or sat scores. It seems when chancing people, we all jump to the sat scores when in fact the avg for ED was 2160.

I guess it's better than nothing but people should not take other's opinions to seriously. Don't want people to have hopes dashed or raised when it really comes down to the essay and recommendations.j

What are your thoughts?
