lol is it like halloween...when prices go down after september...or do the good deals run out?

lol. I'm not quite sure when the prices are low, but I totally agree with you on that. There's something about buying new school supplies that's nostalgic. I guess when I was a young lad, I loved getting new pencils, pens, pencil boxes, binders, etc., for school. That, and a new pair of sneaks, which everyone would step on the first day and make dirty. =[

haha i hella feel you on all of the above...

lol my personal favorite: mechanical pencils....

the sad part is: I've never really been a good student but shopping for school supplies is still hella fun.

but i plan on doing well so i guess thats why this school shopping time, i'm extra excited lol the stupid thing is, everyone buys their stuff in august..but dont wait until their teachers tell them the required materials...so i always end up buying the wrong kind of notebook, having 2 left over, etc...so this year i'm gonna buy most of my supply after my professors tell me what exactly is needed for the class......

hahaha same here... i'm always really excited to go back to school. i get all riled up and buy notebooks/pencils and crap then when the end of the year hits i realize i wrote one page of notes =/

hopefully this year will be different :)

haha. lmao. my elementary school teachers would give me a list of materials. lol. GIMME A BREAK! its fourth grade. all you need are markers and colored pencils.

haha and yea...i've been borrowing pencils from teachers and other students for all my life (and i never gave them back)....i just started buying school stuff in sophmore year of HS.

i'm about to go all out..i wanna get a new email address, clean out my room inside out, buy hella school stuff...lol go all out to make community college as interesting as possible.

I haven't shopped for school supplies since my senior year of high school. I usually just use the leftovers my mom and brother gives.

Usually august to sept is the best time. notebooks become like 50% off.

I got plenty of pens and I use a mechanical pencil. My highlighters don't wear out.

SO i just buy notebooks and paper.

Unlike HS, there is really no use for a three ring binder.

YAY i hate binders.....

so for college, my list of things to buy:

highlighter
notebooks
mechnical pencils
nice ball-point pens

anything else guys?

post it tabs!! those things are so helpful in marking pages in books and what not.

thanks socalgal..btw whats ur major (if you were the one talking about transferring to berkeley)?

I LOVE shopping for school supplies...

I'm really into the mechanical pencils, and gel point pens, and OMG, how I love the college ruled binder paper!

Lol... :)

Target ALWAYS has sales on school supplies. Try them.

ya i remember one year target had 10 cent notebooks lol

yay area huh? which college?

I like binders,
and i like the PHD pencil and the PHD pen.

i always buy extra led, extra erasers and i have atleast 2 extra pens and pencils with me at all times in case i break the mechanical one for osme reason.

I HATE THE WIDE RULED PAPER> it drives me crazy.

i only like the heavy writing paper.
for my math homework i only use engineering paper as of last semester and i only write on one page.

i always have a mesh pencil case of some sort.
i love that white out that isnt liquid
i have a small ruler and a protractor and a compass just in case, the nice type of compass.

I also like colored sharpies, the thin point ones.

for my binders i get those seperation tabs that are made fromplastic, never paper, i hate it when the stuff tears, annoyes the crap out of me.

and i always have a back up of x item at home. ... due to paranoi and i hate it when stuff doesnt match....

ohh and everyone please go and buy a mini stapler, i am sick and tired of letting people borrow mine.

also batteries and a USB port saving device and some sort of organizer all come in handy.

hmmmmmmm i cant think of anything else.
but i cant wait to go shopping.

i use ebay for some of my stuff, so i get in bulk but its a better deal.

ah, so you're one of those mini stapler girls... i'm one of the most unprepared/unorganized people in the world. I buy school supplies but by the end of the year i don't have any left. I once came into a midterm without a calculator, pencil or scantron.. i took me a hella long time to find people with extras :)

and an alternative to a usb port is just emailing the document to yoruself. most webservers give you 100mb nowadays and you can easily fit a word document or powerpoint.

well emaling works but i like the convinience of the usb thing in case a computer doenst have internet connection.

this past semester , in one of my classes we needed a scantron for a test and the class was at 7pm and the bookstore closed at 7pm so i think i passed out about 20+ scantrons that semester.

yea i ahve to buy 3 packs of mechnical pencils/year

i envy those who hang on to the same dang mechnical pencil or pen for YEARS...crazy, organized folks.

i still have my mechanical pencil from junior high

I was at Target yesterday and they had 70 ct notebooks for $0.10 each! U guess it, I loaded up =)
