…you guys go all out
This is what I bought the afternoon after my first day of school:
1" (or maybe 1 1/2") black binder
Three (3) 8 tab dividers
Three (3) notebook spirals
One (1) composition notebook
One (1) pack of those plastic tabs (the name escapes me)
One (1) pack of PaperMate InkJoy pens
Try them!! They’re great

And then I bought snacks.
One binder and three spirals will take me through the year. No need to get multiple binders and whatnot for me.

I heard the InkJoy pens are really great, but I’m partial to G2s haha. my boyfriend gave me a couple of his and they are the smoothest things ever

I’m a nerd as well- I love school supply shopping!! Oh my gosh, it’s so fun…:)

How my school does it is that you receive your schedule, see who your teachers are, go on the school website and click on the teacher’s name and each has a page listing what you need.

I don’t really get to buy a lot of stuff this year though :frowning:
A binder, folder and notebook for Spanish, a binder and notebook for English, highlighters, a folder and a notebook for anatomy and physiology, a folder and a notebook for psych, folder and a notebook for health, a binder, calculator and pens for geometry, and obviously clothes for gym. And of course I’ll buy pencils, sharpies, etc. just to have handy.

Fun stuff.

Maybe I should try them…I have my favorite black pen although I dot remember the maker or the name of the pen, just wht it looks like. I love writing in pen so the more the merrier!

Lucky, at my school our teachers don’t give you a list until the first or second week of school. And by then the school supply sections at all the local stores are wiped out. So I just guess and get what I want

they have lots of fun colors too! haha

I had this really nice zebra pen that had a compressed ink cartridge or something. Haha. I’m a nerd, but I’m very particular with my pens.

Anyway, I tend to reuse any supplies from last year, and buy the essentials.

Ahhhh I love school supply shopping! My list isssss…

Mechanical pencils
Lead
4 Mead Flex notebinders
5 subject notebook
Papermate Profile pens
Postits
Postit Tabs
Flags
PLANNER
Highlighters
Index card notebook

I’m so excited! I got the cutest planner today from Lilly Pulitzer, along with some cute sticky notes.

This year I got:

1.5" binder
plastic folders
spiral notebooks
Paper Mate Profile pens
mechanical pencils
Black Pearl Eraser (the best thing everrrrr)
graphing calculator

What’s so great about the eraser?

The Pearl collection are usually superb compared to other erasers…although I use Pink Pearl and not Black Pearl…

The Black Pearl eraser is shaped like an egg, it’s black so it doesn’t get all dirty, very hard so it doesn’t bend when you erase, and erases like an absolute DREAM! This is my fourth year using Black Pearls. They’re amazing!

Just added it to my list haha…

…just a 5-subject notebook. Sob. I like supply shopping.

My poor little brother though, he’s off to middle school and he needs 6 1.5" binders in a special color code for his classes, plus a ton of other junk. I remember for my 6th grade year we had to drop $100 on everything. Hopefully i’ll get to go with him and point him in the right direction without being a helicopter sister.

all you got was one notebook? I would never survive

I wanted multi-subject notebooks, but my teachers won’t allow it. Here’s my shopping list…

A backpack (my books are so heavy that my bag is a mess by the end of each year)

Five notebooks

Pencils/Pens

A binder

3-4 folders

Loose paper

A flash drive

can you take notes effectively on an ipad or other similar devices (tablet computers?)?

I saved my swag from last year. Which was my accordion folder.

I get an agenda from my school, so I carry around my accordion, my notebook, my agenda, my lunch, and personal crap.

Also, i’d say for note-taking it depends on how fast you can type. I’m okay at typing on an iPad, but on my laptop I can transcribe most of a conversation as it’s happening. Too much of a hassle to carry around, though.

I just reuse school supplies. Like, I don’t see the point of buying new binders and stuff.
