<p>Just a side note–Mattress pads (like memory foam or those egg crate things) work wonders.</p>

<p>you can buy a really good quality memory foam topper at Costco, best price ever…it’s not annextra long twin but rather regular twin…but you can split the difference…2.5" gap at top and bottom…It won’t make a difference, especially if you have a good mattress pad which you will indeed be able to afford because of all the money you saved at Costco.</p>

<p>I prefer leaving the 5 inch gap at the top, because that’s where your pillow goes anyhow.</p>
