<p>I've been filling out the housing stuff and nowhere has it asked me for my preference of which dorm. Am I missing something or does state pick our dorms?</p>

<p>You used to be able to state a preference for dorms on the app (but generally they didn’t follow preferences anyways). Now it is just random. The only time when you can “choose your dorm” is if you choose to be part of a residential program that has housing in a particular building.</p>
<p>fa-la, if I’m not mistaken, don’t they also still give you options for like substance free or all-girls dorms? You at least have options like that IIRC. But as for specific dorm- no, no real choice.</p>
<p>Yeah they still have the “substance-free” and “quiet housing” options, but beyond that I don’t think so. And some people who don’t choose substance-free or quiet housing end up placed there anyway.</p>
