Hi all! I've just committed to the UChicago class of 2017 :)) I am beyond thrilled and grateful. I am now filling out the housing application and if any current students could help me out, that'd be great.

I am social and outgoing, with a lot of focus and dedication to academics and extracurriculars (not really a big 'drinking party' sort of person). I would also prefer a single if possible. I stayed overnight at South campus and liked it a lot- the people were great, I liked the wide windows and natural light (though I do also like the older, Gothic buildings as well). However, people have said its kind of a trek to the gym and library- how long is the walk? Is it a pain in the winter? On the housing sheet it says South only has 'small singles'? How much smaller are they?

Right now I am thinking of listing South, BJ, and Palevsky as my top three choices. BJ is about the same distance from the main campus and has a lot more singles, but because it's a much older building I am hesitant about the facilities. Palevsky's location is perfect because it's right in the middle of everything, but it's mostly doubles isn't it?

Thanks for all the help!
