We could have a mini wind-tunnel for aerospace students. :D

I wonder if you get credit for your "living space" lab?

its times like these where i can smile for being put into hereford, too bad it will be short lived :(

yeah. No one smiles about hereford. No one smiles in Hereford, that in itself is strictly forbidden.

And Gooch/Dillard is the upperclass equivalent

Pardon me, but I haven't yet been in the know about the Sorrows of Hereford. It's not just the loneliness and small size of Hereford singles, is it?

I think Hereford is equivalent to being put into solitary confinement. Sure, you get your own cell but you end up having conversations with yourself.

and that the rooms look like prison cells with carpet, and the whole complex's architecture is quite bleak. Plus, generally the people that live there aren't super sociable.

And it's a hike to anything, except for Runk.

Is everything in Hereford a single?

nope, there are some doubles.

One redeeming quality is that Runk is probably the best dining hall.

Speaking from experience? ;) (That's what I also did at Orientation.)

i have a single in malone but during orientation i was given a double so i do not know how big a single is. Can someone fill me in on the size of a hereford single compared to the double (im thinking.. hopefully at least 2/3s or 1/2 the size of the double). We also get a free fridge and microwave too right?

Im going to do my best to socialize with those on my floor. I cannot stand not being by myself, especially since i am not going to know anyone in virginia and it is a completely new start for me. I am just worried about really just bonding with those who live near me. My girlfriend however (she is staying in college in NYC), smiled when i got put into hereford. She was like "hahaha, no meeting social girls for you!"

58% ;)

10char

It's about half the size of a Hereford double. But seriously though, that place is not all that bad. I lived in Malone last year and living in a single had its pros (privacy) and cons (lack of someone to talk to, I IMed a lot and spent a lot of time out in the lounge or in someone else's room). It's basically just like any other first year dorm. And the first years in the real Hereford dorms all get assigned together and live in one side of the hall so it's very sociable for the most part. The non-sociable ones are a few of the upperclassmen (though not all) who live there. Living in the basement though sucked because we were cut off from the upper floors so I only knew people from my hall.

As far as keeping cool I will be bringing a baby pool for my dorm and keeping it filled with chilled water. Pool parties every wednesday and sunday.

Sounds great to me!

anyways, for dorm decorations, can we hang up like frames and such on the wall with nails?? and we're allowed to hang a mirror behind our closet door right? cus i saw pictures of dorm rooms that had mirrors behind their closets..i know that mccormick provides mirror but i wasnt sure about alderman

wait mccormick provides mirrors?
