Dorm Help

Im a freshman going to live on South Campus next year, but not sure which dorm. All i know so far is I don't want Eringhaus, and people are telling me if i can pull of Hilton James with AC or Morrison I should do that. Just want your advice on which dorms are the best/most social?

I think Craige, E-haus, and Hinton James are all about the same in terms of quality of living. E-haus is 'closer' to classes than Craige and HJ, but that's by a grand total of maybe two minutes. I live on North Campus so am not the authority, but they all seem social. I've heard that the directional dorms are quieter. If you want somewhere social, I think anywhere on south won't disappoint. It's all got a neat vibe to it.

I lived in Ehaus my freshman year and had a great time. It was one of the smaller freshman/south campus dorms and I ended up getting close with a lot of people. It was a closer to class and Rams Head dining hall, market, and Rec center. I wouldn't try to get Morrison, simply because most people are recontracting there and you're wasting your time because many juniors and rising sophomores are looking to get in there. Don't freak out about AC, it's really not noticeable after the first three weeks as long as you have fans. Honestly, I think incoming freshmen should be happy to be in college and live it like true college students their first year. It's a great experience on South Campus and you have 2000+ others to share your "freshman dorm" experience with.

well have sinus condition and therefore will be recieving a doctors note for AC. But like from what i hear Hilton James is the most social dorm, Eringhaus isn't as social. Also Morrison is just supposively awesome even though i have very little shot at getting it(still try cuz im sure with HJ at number 2 they would love to stick me in it)

Hinton James (aka HoJo) has a reputation for being a very social place, but it's also kind of self-contained. It's not very close to campus. I'm not looking for the super-social freshman experience, so I'm trying to avoid the high-rises. Are you going pot-luck for your roommate?

yea, Hojo is the farthest dorm on campus.
I have like 4 suitemates so we're only allowed to live in Hojo if we want to keep our suitemates.
