Do the students at NYU tend be mostly liberal? Also, how is life in the dorms? Are the different dorms geared toward different people...such as one dorm more for film people..or geared more based on lifestyle...etc. Off topic..but hows the partying at NYU?

Also...is it pretty diverse? Would I fit in? I'm more on the preppy side...and rather moderate/conservative.

Yes, most NYU students tend to be liberal. No, dorms are not set up to segregate certain groups. Chances are your roommate won't even be in the same NYU college as you are, unless you specify a friend who is also attending NYU. Partying happens but most people go out to bars and clubs when they're in partying mode.

there are frats, very few, and they definately are not part of the student life. Recently though theyve gone off campus so theyve been throwing crazy parties, but very few people are actually in the fraternities

it is often said nyu students are crazy liberals, but nearly everyone ive seen in apathetic. It mean its possible that everyone turn more politically active as school goes on, but right now everyone just cares about getting ****faced. I mean almost everyone here hates bush, is pro choice and all that...but its not like people just break out into politics debates and liberal protest every 5 minutes. Of course if your a gay basher or w/e dont come here, but thats common sense
