dorm linnens

does anyone know a good place to buy the dorm linnens. I received a brochure from one company but found out when I did a search there were a lot of unhappy people with there stuff. Is there anywhere else

Yeah, just go to your Bed, Bath, & Beyond or any other place. Stay away from any brochures you receive.

The UCLA housing dept sends out a mailing during the summer, that has purchase options for extra long bedsheets and bedspreads, etc. It has different packages available, some including laundry bags, pillows, and bathrobes and others that are just basic extra long sheets.

Stay away from it. There was an old thread about this last year. . .

my friend had those sheets/comforter set......it bleeds color in the wash....he had to wash them separately and they weren't soft at all..you can get great stuff at target, marshalls, and bed bath and beyond.

yep, just look for twin xl sheets anywhere they sell bedding

I second the previous posts. Bed Bath or Target are great places. You save $$ and you don't receive random items that the package includes. I think it included extra towels or some odd trashcan.

Bed Bath and Beyond sell the extra long sheets in the months before school starts.

My D also got one of those 'campus linens' brochures in the mail. Went in the trash. Much more fun to pick out your own stuff than buy a package anyway!

my D loves the beech jersey - sooo soft. Not sure if I am allowed to link to a commercial site.

thx for the link--- those sheets look realy nice!

I got my set at Target and it's like the best thing ever. The comforter is so soft and comfy. Plus I got like two different kinds of squishy padding at Bed, Bath and Beyond. All of my friends take naps on my bed.

here is the link to the SCAM that everyone talked about last year.
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=216945&highlight=linens%20scam%20bedding

i cannot emphasize this enough:
DO NOT BUY FROM RESIDENCE HALL LINENS!!!!!!!!!!! they are NOT affiliated with UCLA.

as everyone above me has said, go to a STORE. i prefer target, myself (bed bath and beyond's things always smell so strongly... give me headaches).
and don't wait til the last minute if you want selection.

and don't worry about getting twin XL...regular twin size will work just fine.

twin is a lot shorter....

for the actual bed sheets you need twin XL or they wont cover the length of the bed. they dont make twin XL comforters etc though.

my regular twin bed sheets cover my bed fine. It's not that much shorter... I think it's only like 2 or 3 inches or something like that.

oh. shrug

well its not like twin XL is that much more expensive, if at all.

 That place that sends out brochures is not a scam- that person in the link probably had their order mixed up along the way which can and does happen from time to time. That company is not specific to any university, but pays universities for their mailing list so they can advertise their product. That said, the company is known for their subpar qualities and gross overpricing with nonsensical packages filled with unnecessary items

if you don't get what's advertised, i call it a scam
they take your good money and sell you (insert expletive here) very VERY subpar things.
people are much better off going to a store. just don't risk it!!! xD
