Dorm + Meal Plan Questions!

Hi,
I’m a prospective Winter 2016 transfer. I have a couple questions!

What are the chances of getting a dorm for winter? I won’t know if I am accepted or not until November. I’m worried about not getting into a dorm for Winter. I know there are micro studios and “Apodments” in the area, that could work, I just am curious!

What sort of food does UW serve? I know this is a weird question, but I’m on a pretty specific diet and I’m a little worried about… sustaining myself while at college.

Are transfers going to be completely at a loss for registration? I’m an aspiring Public Health major who wants to complete courses to take the MCAT. So, I’m on a bit of a “strict” schedule for completing courses.

Thanks!

UW has a huge variety of food. No traditional cafeterias, there are cafes and “food court” type places all over campus. Some are pasta bars, others salad bars, there are pizza places, Subways, etc. You should be able to find whatever it is you need for your diet by checking out all the options.

You will most likely get a dorm. Many people rush throughout the year and there are usually openings. Food wise, UW is somewhat lacking. I am a vegetarian and found the options to be very heavy in carbs/ caloric, but for the most part the campus has many different options.
