dorm room dilemma !

hi everyone. i have applied to UF for the freshman pool for 2009, and i received my housing letter in the mail telling me i should apply before things get full. so, with this being my reason for posting, i have no idea which dorm type to select! i've heard things about broward being centrally located, but i don't want a disgusting living facility as i have heard it is?

ideally, i would like something centrally located, close to a library [ within reason ], a decent dorm room, something a little social but not too over the top, since i would like to meet new people being my freshman year and not knowing anyone going to school there. Also, east side of campus is prefered.

Can anyone help me out? thanks ! :]

Yulee Hall! That's where I'm staying, and I love it. It's close to a couple of the libraries and most of the freshman lecture halls, on the east side of campus, and was renovated within the last couple of years. It's a LOT nicer than Broward. While it isn't as social as dorms like Broward and Jennings, I've met a fair few people living on my floor.

I don't think you select anything about your dorm until you're actually accepted. What the letter telling you to do is to pay so you can be assured to get whatever dorm you want when the time comes to pick them.

Yes, just send in your housing deposit. NO decisions about which type of housing to choose is made until after you are accepted. You have 4 months to peruse the housing website and look at the virtual tours and floorplans!
