Dorm room gear

There is a thread about what to buy, and what not to send for your student.
I thought it might be helpful if people knew of good sales/student discounts.

Currently Bed Bath & Beyond has a 'Home Sweet Dorm' Sweepstakes. You can enter online. First time email subscribers receive '20% off one item in store certificate'. That could add up to a decent amount if you are purchasing a 'bed-in-a-bag' set.

Their snail-mail flyer for dorm-gear arrived here today. They have a lot of things that have been on others lists, in great colors, at good prices. Hope this helps some who are shopping. :)

Register online at Container Store and you also get 20% off first purchase. Don’t know if it is just one item or whole order. Haven’t read the fine print yet. And both BBB and Container Store have option to shop locally and pick up later in your college town.

Thats actually not really a good deal. Its how they get you into the stores <.<

target is running a flyer with a $5 off cupon for every 75 spent.

Yeah, D and I came home from a $114 shopping spree at Target today to find the $5 off of a $75 purchase at Target in the mailbox… oh.

A few years back, sent D off to college. One thing she appreciated was a new mattress pad with some actual padding. The standard issue was a flimsy little thing and the bed was like a board. Just check on the bed size as some of the dorms have extra long twins.

fluffy, thick mattress pad!!! made me so happy this year =] clip on or desk lamp would be really good, cuz roommates have diff schedules, so your child can study whenever this way.
