I am trying to buy things for my dorm before all the college events are over and everything is out of stock. But I can’t seem to find out how big the furniture or my dorm is. How big are the desks and wardrobes? Is there anywhere I can find measurements for these kinds of things? I’ll be living in Millennium if that helps. Thanks!
My daughter was at Millennium her freshman year. Take a look at this:
http://drexel.edu/campusservices/universityHousing/residence-halls/millenniumHall/
you can see from the diagram that the length of the wall on your side is 14 feet. An x-long twin bed is about 6.75 feet, so you have about 7.25 feet left. The wardrobe and the desk are about the same width and can go side by side against the wall. So, each is about 3.5 feet wide. You can rearrange them to suit your taste and the 360 degree tour on the link above will show you another configuration. The wardrobe has 2 lower drawers and the rest is for hung clothing.
Don’t overdo the buying before hand.Add as you find you need things. You can share some stuff with your roommate. You can also store things under your bed. You will also have a nightstand.
My D was also in millennium…it is very small. along the one wall you will just fit the bed (my D put the nightstand with 2 drawers under the bed), desk and wardrobe. They put a rug between the two beds (about 4.5 ft by 6.5 ft) and a mini fridge they shared under the windows.
