Im looking into nyu but have a major small problem. I wet the
Bed 4-5 times a week. I wear protection" pullups" for this to manage it but dontknow if i should tell roomate, school, ra, etc.. Is there a question about this on the rooming papers? Are there bedweter rooms? Help!!

Is this a joke? You’d have a “problem” at any college… Not just NYU.

WOW that was an insensitive answer. Try better representing your school and city by being smarter and more tolerant.

Teen123, I would try to grab a single room in a suite. That way you’ll have more privacy to deal with it. It’s hard for freshman/transfers to get singles, but I’m sure NYU Housing would help you out if you called and explained your situation. I don’t know if it would be considered a medical problem… you can say it’s CAUSED by a medical problem? Good luck!

Well to be honest though your predicament is unusual, I would still at least tell your roommates about to problems you know just as if someone is admitting to a snoring problem as for bed wetter rooms, though im sure youre not the only one in the school, i dont think think such rooms exist simply becase not enough ppl would have requested one. What matters the most (at least to logical and accepting ppl) is that you’re willing to admit the problem and work to handle it as much as you can. It’s not as if you’re doing it on purpose right? So you shouldn’t have to feel insecure about informing other around you. Trying to get a single room is expensive and difficult to get. Plus I’m sure you’ll find understanding roommates and RAs willing to help. Ppl have had roommates with worse issues who didn’t care to take care of themselves. If you don’t find such understanding ppl, screw them, they’ll have to deal with it. It’s not the end of the world and you’re just as normal as the next person :D

Btw r u entering as an undergrad freshman? Was just wondering :)

have you tried seeing a doctor? it’s possible that you need to get your bladder/kidneys tested.

teen 123, I hope you’re not joking as this is a very sensitive matter…so if you’re serious my advise to you is please don’t make this problem a reason for you to stop from applying at NYU!
NYU housing also accommodates people with disabilities and your problem can be considered a disability provided you have a medical report from your doctor.
Just my opinion!

I would try to get single room under a guise of a medical problem. You may need documentation from your doctor. Also I WOULD NOT tell my roomates. Have you ever seen a doctor for this problem?

If you’re good at hiding it, don’t tell your roommate. If not, then might as well if you’re sure he’ll find out otherwise. It’s kind of like coming out of the closet to a straight roommate. Sure it’ll feel mad awkward at first, but if you guys end up getting along and whatnot, the NYU community is definitely friendly enough that they won’t give two ****s. Maybe they won’t wanna share a bed with you, but you’ll live. Obviously a single room would be best, if it’s not too late already. Unfortunately, they don’t have accommodations specifically for bed-wetters.
