I noticed that too. I am a senior in high school, as I mentioned in my topic, and I was wondering if someone can tell me more about when/how I can apply for the housing license agreement. On a brochure I got, it said that you can apply for a license agreement before you even get accepted to SDSU, but on the housing website, it seems like you have to be accpeted and have an ID before applying for the housing license agreement.

So, what dates do I need to remember and things like that? When can I start to apply to SDSU and apply for the license agreement?

Also, for those who have lived on dorms: I think that Chappy sounds best for me, but it is rather far from the other dorms. If anyone has any experience living there or any other thoughts please do share them.

Oh, and I'm still not sure if I'm bringing a car for my freshman year nor not...I think it looks like I'll only be bringing one after my freshman year, so those students who want to go downtown or MB/PB or La Jolla, do they just get taxi's/other students, etc. to take them there for the first year?

Can someone please help me?
I am an Aussie comming to study abroad at SDSU next year for Sprinbg 2006. I just have a few questions:
How much is a Zura single? are they hard to get since its a first come first serve basis.
What is the best meal plan to get.
What is the weather like from Jan - May/june?
How far away is SDSU from LA?

Any info would be reall appreciated. I have never studied abroad and im looking forward to SDSU.

Meal plans: http://www.aztecshops.com/mealplans.aspx#meals
I recommend the flex 5 meal plan because allows a lot of flexibility. You can eat whenever you want and dont have to fit your spending into specific hours in the day like the 10-plan and the 10-plan-plus. You do have to spend all your money each day, but there are plenty of places you can buy snacks and stuff if you have money left over after your last meal each day. The Meals-Plus is expensive and you will probably have money leftover.

San Diego is about 2 hours away from LA, with no traffic. Traffic can add an hour or more to your trip. The weather is ideal California beach weather. SDSU is actually ~8 miles inland, so it can get hot at times and it gets cool in the evenings. Here is a link to weather trends in San Diego:

Hope that helps. Good luck on your studying abroad. I know you will love it in beautiful San Diego~

ahh, help. im not understanding this payment system for a meal plan and for a room??? We dont have this here in (Western Australia) where i am from - so its a little confusing.
For a Zura single for ONE semester, including meal plan what would that cost?
Thanks for your help, i really appreciate it! Things are just a little blury for me at the moment as no one from my uni has ever studied abroad at SDSU, so myself and another girl will be the first! and we are looking very forward to it!

Aussie, I don't know the answer to your questions. I really think you should call the SDSU housing office immediately. On-campus spaces fill up very fast. I hope they have some openings for you. Good luck!

Yeah, cheers mate. thanks for trying.
Myself and antoher exchange student are having problems with the SDSU's staff from the international office - they dont know what they are doing... which is why i was desperatly seeking help from this webpage as a last resource. hopefully it will all work out in the end though. :o)

Well, best wishes. I hope you are able to work everything out and live on campus next semester. Wherever you end up living, I know you will love SDSU and the city of San Diego.

Just another little question with the meal plan. Im thinking of getting the 10 meal plan because i eat like a bird! I understand that i can have 2 meals a day for 5 days.
So hypothetically, if i didnt eat one particular week because i was away, would my credit be valid for the next week?
Or if i didnt eat on Monday, but i ate tue, wed, thur, fri - could i eat sat instead? I know these questions are stupid, but i have never heard of a meal plan b4.
I also heard that some campus have mcdonalds? is this true? What sort of food does SDSU offer?

Oh and i am quite the party gal. Im hearing wierd things about how old you have to be to enter clubs? In Australia its 18!
So ill be 20 next year and unable to purchase alcohol which is really frustrating. Do i need to be 21 to enter the clubs and pubs?

Hi Aussie. I think all the meal plans except the "meals plus" are good only monday through friday. You don't get credit for meals you don't eat from my understanding. But I'm not 100% sure.

Being a parent of a SDSU student, I have no idea. What I do know is you will have lots of fun at SDSU and you will probably find what you are looking for, whatever that may be.
