How good are the dormitories at cornell? and what are the room and board prices like?

I’ve only been in a couple of dorms in the summer. They’re beautiful, but have no air conditioning and it gets pretty stuffy even with fan. Risley looks like a Harry Potter castle. Balch has amazing acoustics and a really cool courtyard. Each has its own personality.

Ahh cool thanks!
Are you planning on applying?

If you don’t get placed in one of the newest dorms, don’t worry about it. I was kind of upset when I was first placed in Dickson freshman year (no air conditioning, not nearly as nice as CKB or Mews, etc.). But it’s homey, I met amazing people, and I had an awesome time there; I wouldn’t trade my freshman dorm experience for the world. Many of my best memories from Cornell happened in Dickson.

haha I don’t mind not having A/C. But does it get hot in the summer?

It does. I’ll never forget how hot it was the day I moved in. It wasn’t fun lugging my stuff up 5 sets of stairs, since Dickson only has one elevator haha

All dorms have a good and a bad. My favorite dorms, personally, have been the Townhouses, Mews, and Jameson. It all depends on where your friends are really
