Dorms

Hey guys I was wondering if you could help me decide which dorm I should choose.
So I love cinema (I am in the cinematic arts school) but while I would probably be forced to be social in a "party" dorm such as new/north I am not extremely social. What's really important is a/c (from the northeast) and parking and was wondering if i were to choose arts/humanities at parkside (would i be excluded from the cinema community in other dorms) would i be able to get parking somewhat nearby? What would be the best choice for me? Also, is the "isolation" the parkside halls are in bad in that they are completely cut off from society so there would be little to no social aspect at all?

Is Arts/Humanities near the parking center (I heard this was the safest parking structure) at all and what specifically does a permit entail (the ability to have a parking spot with the cost of daily parking or the ability to have a parking spot plus no costs)?

A/C was important to my son as well so he decided to live in Fluor Tower. It is kind of far from all of his classes but he rides his skateboard so it works fine for him. Fluor is fairly close to the (gorgeous) Cinematic Arts school which would be convenient for you. There is also a parking structure that is right by Fluor where my son parks his car (called Parking Structure B). The parking permit is good for the year and you do not have to pay an additional charge to park. You do not get an assigned space but there is always plenty of parking (except on days when there is a football game). You can sign up for the parking lottery now and then on July 9th you can request the structure you want.
As far as the safety of the structure, my son has felt completely safe day and night parking his car and walking to his dorm. It is the only structure that he is familiar with but I suspect that he would feel safe in any of the structures on campus.
I am not trying to sway you from Parkside, just giving you another option to consider with A/C and parking!
Congratulations on your acceptance to USC and good luck to you!

*Correction to my previous post. Your permit is paid per semester. If you renew your permit then you just keep your same sticker for the second semester.

That post was incredibly helpful! Thank you so much!
