Dorms

Which are the best dorms (and why!) and can you even choose which dorms you want when applying for housing? If not, what kind of choices do they give you on the Housing application?

Well, if you are going to be a freshman next year, you are in luck. A whole new freshman dorm and living/recreating complex is opening up next fall JUST FOR YOU!

After freshman year, there are a variety of dorms available, and I think there is some choice component, but I don't know the details, because my son is a freshman this year.

From what I hear, you will be pleased with the freshman dorms (part of the Freshman Commons projects).

They used to just ask if you wanted a single or a double. The newest dorms (The Commons) has doubles and is supposed to be outstanding housing.

I live in the common next year and I'm already upset that I have to leave my dorm this year. I live in North, where the first and second floors have their own bathrooms. I've only seen one room in one of the new buildings. It's a decent size and nicer than the old freshman dorms. The only downsides are no carpet, and for whatever reason they decided closet doors weren't necessary, so bring a shower curtain. Plus, the new commons dining center has great food. Good luck trying to stay away from the 32592525205 varieties of cake they have!

umm the this year and next year should be switched....^^
