Dos and Don'ts of the Dean's Honor Scholarship

Does anyone have some pointers for a successful Dean’s Honor Scholarship project? I know that academic/test score statistics are of main importance, but what about the creative component? How much should it be about one’s story and ambitions without being too focused on the applicant? Do any of you have extra suggestions? @fallenchemist and any others, thanks for your help.

The brutal truth is that if you don’t have the scores in the 2250+ range, your chances are likely nil.

Do something that resonates with you, if it is important to you than it will come across in your project. Have fun with it as they already have all your stats and this is another way for them to see the “real” you.

Much to my angst (and total frustration) my son did his the day before it was due and he was a lucky recipient of the award. He went with his gut instinct and didn’t over think it (really not sure how much thought he put into it since he did it so late) but maybe that was best for him.

His had both serious and humorous aspects that showed a good representation of his personality.

Good luck
