Good day to everyone browsing this thread. I'm just finishing up my freshmen year at a state university and I have decided on doing a double degree in finance and mathematical economics. My career goal is to work in either investment banking, or sales & trading, hopefully with a large bank in NYC. I have a few questions to ask today, the first of which involves the school I'm at. I have heard that the prestige of the university is of very high importance for business graduates seeking the top jobs. Is this true? If so, what advice would you have to help me stand out and make up for my school not being well-known? My second question is about the majors I have chosen. Would you say that doing a double degree is worth it, and if so, are the two I have chosen a smart course of action? I've read about accounting/finance, and economics/finance, however, I thought the math would give me an edge. Any thoughts? Lastly, about internships. None of the big banks participate in the career fairs or do presentations at my campus, so getting a foot in the door will be difficult. Obviously, having an internship would be extremely beneficial when I graduate and begin my job hunt. Are there any recommendations on how to get a good internship given my situation? Any assistance is greatly appreciated, so please share your thoughts whether they are good or bad.

Thanks to everyone!
