Double Deposit and Appealing for deferred admission

I’d like any feedback on a scenario I am contemplating for my intents to register:

I want to double deposit: intend to register at a CSU, and at a UC, but I want to file an appeal to defer admission to the UC to next Fall 2021. I am not ready to go to a UC away from my hometown this fall with this whole coronavirus. But if they don’t give me the appeal, then I would have the CSU as a backup for this fall.
Is this possible? Is it ethical? I’m in a quandary

Not ethical to double deposit. You could ask the CSU to extend the SIR deadline until you hear about your deferral.

Thank you

Double depositing is prohibited, as has been covered in multiple threads. Here is one:

If you double deposit and the schools figure out what you did you risk losing both acceptances. Don’t do it.

Agree on not double depositing. And I thought the UCs had a no-deferral policy?

@Mwfan1921: In normal circumstances, the UC’s rarely approve deferrals but UCSC has offered admitted students a deferral for this Fall and some other UC’s may be open to the option for this year.

This is not a normal year, colleges do it all the time , it is their waitlist, yes many hear do not like it but college can not stop it especially this year, hell you doin not even know if you will have a dorm in sept to go to, double dep.
