So I'm applying to two different top universities (Ivies/Ivy level). At one, I have double legacy (both my parents went there) and at the other my mother is a professor. Which would you say would help more in admission? I'm just curious! Thanks!

Parent Professor (If she is has tenure and is well liked)

Just think how many alumni a school has and how many faculties it has. Nevertheless, it is still up to the school policy.

Parent professor will help and if she’s tenured you may get partial tuition. Acceptance isn’t a guarantee but if you fit the ideal student then you have a very good chance. Also, check with the school. Talk to some admissions reps. Try to make yourself stand out and make sure they know that you are a professors kid.

Double legacy is nice, but I don’t think it could make or break you. If you are a good student, it may give you an extra push but if your stats are unusual for the school then it won’t help.

I know a double legacy average student got accepted to Stanford while several top students from the same school got rejected this year. Actually he is a quadruple legacy as he has 2 grandparents alumni too.
