I am a current junior. I have a 4.0 unweighted and a 4.8 weighted (honors classes count as an extra point). I took 1 AP (score 5) last year. I 4 aps this year and 4 for senior year.
SAT: 2250
SAT Chem: 760
SAT Math 2: 800
Going to take Latin or Physics SAT II in June.

I am taking IB Latin HL and Greek SL senior year. Top student in both languages!
I want to go to UCB and major in Bioengineering. I was thinking about minoring in Classical Languages. But Berkeley doesn't offer that. Is it worth it to double major (Bioengineering and CL). I plan to have about 45-50 sem. credits going in as a freshmen so it should round out to about 4 years of college.

First things first, this should really go in the Berkeley forum, not here.

Second, did you earn 45-50 semester credits from AP/IB credit or from community college? If you earned it from AP/IB credit you will have to take a “substitute” course for the class you skipped out of. For example, if you took AP Chemistry, you can skip the first general year of chemistry, but will have to take another more advanced chemistry course in its place. In other words, Berkeley only rewards you with “generic” credit, not course credit.

That being said, double majoring is straightforward enough. Even when minors are offered, most of the time, the difference between a major and minor is a single or two classes. If you are confident enough in your abilities in both bioengineering and CL then you should definitely aim for it, but keep in mind that bioengineering is nowhere remotely near an easy major at Berkeley.

From my limited knowledge, I’m pretty sure that there’s some sort of unspoken rule that says if you want to double major at a top school, keep engineering out of it.
